This annual conference grew out of a series of seminars that took place at the Toulouse Business School Toulouse) in France during 2013 and 2015. There the idea was bon top organize an annual small-scale conference enabling to discuss the latest developments around business modeling and more in particular how these models contribute to societal-economic trends such as sustainability, the circular economy, social entrepreneurship and community-based business models. The aim is to show latest developments on the edge of academia and practices. Furthermore, there is room for PHD-students and undergraduates to present their work. The work presented at each annual conference is the objects of one or more Special Issues of journals or book chapters. The first conference was held in Toulouse in 2016, followed by a highly successful one in Graz (Austria)in 2017. Future conferences are scheduled for Sofia (Bulgaria, 2018), Berlin (Germany, 2019) and Nijmegen (The Netherlands 2020).
