Дискусия „Youth for Europe: But is Europe still relevant to them?“

The upcoming European elections in May will determine the future direction in which the EU will be moving. Equally important, the next European elections will show whether Europe is even relevant to the younger share of the population after a historically low voter turnout in 2014. But what do young people actually think of Europe and what are their expectations, their wishes, their dreams? And what can Europe actually offer to young people in a country like Bulgaria facing challenges like high youth unemployment and massive brain drain?

JCI Europe in partnership with JCI Bulgaria and JCI Sofia are inviting you to join the Panel Discussion „Youth for Europe: But is Europe still relevant to them?“, which will be held on February 8th, 2019 (Friday) in Hilton Sofia as a part of the program of 2019 JCI European Presidents Meeting – Sofia | Bulgaria.

During this panel discussion representatives from the political sector, civil society and the business sector will discuss societal challenges young people in Bulgaria and Europe are facing today and what the EU can do to overcome them.

We will give young active citizens, future leaders and entrepreneurs the opportunity to exchange their visions, ideas and solutions for the future of Europe and share their thoughts on what the EU should do to take into account the youth’s perspective and activate change on the ground.

Panelists confirmed:
– Miroslav Tsekov – Secretary General of National Youth Forum in Bulgaria;
– Petar Mladenov – Director General of Youth Policy Directorate, Ministry of Youth and Sport of Bulgaria, awarded in The Outstanding Young Persons of Bulgaria – TOYP Bulgaria 2017.

After the panel discussion all participants are invited to take part in a Scavenger Hunt in the Sofia city center, that aims to provide young people with ideas and new impulses to create solutions to local and European challenges and engage with young people in Sofia in a fun way!

This event is held under the Step Up For Europe campaign that calls young active citizens to participate in political decision-making processes and shape the future of Europe.
